Over on Facebook today, we're giving away four Dec. 16 tickets to BalletMet's seasonal classic Nutcracker.

But if you don't win, fear not: BalletMet has other goodies planned for families this week. Their "Mornings at the Ballet" series starts this Friday and continues on Dec. 15 and 16. These programs are entertaining and engaging performances that have been presented by the company for more than 25 years exclusively to school and home school groups. The programs enhance interdisciplinary learning including history, language arts and music, meeting Ohio Department of Education content standards for Fine Arts. Schools from throughout Central Ohio participate with more than 7,000 students attending annually. Study guides are also available to teachers.

"The Nutcracker Suite" program takes place at the Ohio Theatre from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., presenting highlights from Acts I and II of the Nutcracker. Colorful characters include the menacing Mouse King and the graceful Sugar Plum Fairy. The program costs $7 per participant. For reservations, call 614-229-4860.
