Want to give your kid a head start on a successful school year? Help him or her create a homework spot. Designating a place in the house where your child can do homework and study for tests will help them develop good organizational and work skills. The area should be clutter-free and have a sizable work area so your student can spread out their books and papers. Make sure you provide the proper tools to get the work done – good lighting, pens, pencils, crayons and whatever other items your youngster requires. It's also a good idea to carve out a specific time slot for doing homework.
