The Daily Bulletin
We recently received some info about an interesting inCLUsionary Halloween option for kids with food allergies and other health challenges that prevent them from eating candy.
A national group has organized the “CLU Campaign.” Their website has a page http://www.clucampaign.org/projects/halloween/ with all the details where you can download a decal to display on your front door and for any child to wear who needs to receive non-perishable treats. You can also register your address as a CLU home, so that other families can view a map to see participating homes nearby. They also provide ideas for fun, non-perishable treats.
They’re not recommending that you not provide any candy treats this Halloween. They’re just encouraging people to think about providing treats for kids who might not otherwise get to enjoy this holiday.
