Center promotes early communication

The Columbus Speech & Hearing Center wants to help parents learn to communicate better with their young children.


The center is offering sign language classes geared to youngsters ages 6-18 months old and their parents and caregivers. The eight-week course will teach basic vocabulary words such as milk, juice, mom and dad. The 90-minute classes will include instruction, snacks and stories.

The course costs $200 and can include two children and up to three adults. Upcoming sessions are:

Mondays, April 4-May 23 from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesdays, July 13-Aug. 31 from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 15- Nov. 3 from 10-11:30 a.m.
