Uptown Westerville will brush off the cold weather with the return of the popular 4th Fridays series this week.

The Westerville Visitors & Convention Bureau will present Mount Carmel St. Ann's 4th Friday: Uptown Alive-the first of six monthly events-from 6-9 p.m. April 22.

The series, held the fourth Friday of every month through September, includes more than 100 street vendors, food carts, live entertainment, children's activities and extended hours in Uptown shops. The action is concentrated between Home and Winter streets. For a schedule of each month's theme, go to visitwesterville.org.

This month, the Eric Ransom Band will play at the corner of North State and East Home streets. The Arts Council of Westerville will feature musical acts in the municipal building courtyard and in Arts Alley, in front of Hanby Elementary School. Generations Performing Arts Center and Excel Martial Arts will perform as well.

Family-friendly activities abound. The Westerville Puppet Posse is back to entertain children, and the Westerville Public Library will offer storytimes at Amish Originals Furniture, 38 N. State St., from 6:30-8:30 p.m. And the WVCB Kids Corner will return on East College Avenue with bounce house fun.
