Come celebrate Powell in a two day festival!
Organizers of the city's 12th annual Powell Festival are preparing for the biggest celebration yet, expecting a total crowd of 25,000 over the two-day event.
The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. June 27 and will end around 11 p.m. June 28 with a fireworks display.
The festival is free and runs 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, at the Village Green, 47 Hall St., in downtown Powell.
Powell Mayor Tom Counts will be at the city booth to talk to residents from 6-8 p.m. Friday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
Liberty Street south of the "four corners" intersection of Liberty and Olentangy streets will close during festival hours. Traffic will be allowed to travel south on Liberty to access angled parking on the west side of the street.
Other available parking includes city lots at 44 N. Liberty St. and at the intersection of Olentangy and Depot streets and at the Village Academy, 284 S. Liberty St.
Powell visitors are encouraged to walk to the festival using city pathways, and those coming from the west side can use the path crossing the railroad tracks at Olentangy Street.
