A couple of years ago, I had several conversations with moms asking how they could implement greener lifestyles for their families. I also spoke with moms-to-be, discussing where to start this process.
They all shared how overwhelming taking those first green steps can be. Ques-tions like, "What is the most important green thing I can do to prep the nursery?" to "What educational re-sources can help my kids enjoy nature?" led to requests for a one-stop shopping and educational resource. Baby the Planet Expo was formed to answer this call from area moms and bring green resources to central Ohio families with the focus on education.
Why education? Because the Expo vendors know that it's important for families to not only consider the products and services they buy as an important way to be nicer to the planet, but also about how you use, reuse, and recycle those items that can make a real difference.
Families will find scheduled activities and lessons throughout our Expo. Want to learn what you're putting on your skin (make-up and clothing-wise) and why it's important? How about letting your kids really get their hands dirty while they learn about composting and how worms play an important part in that process? You'll find these answers, plus you'll be able to shop fair trade and organic items for your family - all in one spot.
Our vendors are committed to helping your family learn simple, every-day actions you can take to live a more sustainable lifestyle. While you may receive many new ideas, our hope is that you'll take at least one new thing you learn and implement it into your lifestyle at home.
Want to know just how easy it is to start living a greener lifestyle? Just visit Baby the Planet Expo within the Columbus Parent Magazine EXPO, May 2 and 3, at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
