The Department of Parks & Recreation hosts this free family-oriented series to bring together music and community. With everything from Creole Funk to the Beetles, everyone will find something to enjoy.

Summer Sizzle Concert Series - June 5-August 28

Concerts are free and open to the public from 7-8:30 p.m. each Friday and Saturday, weather permitting. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a night of summer fun.

Art in the Park - June 19, July 17
Stradley Park, Canal Winchester
6-9 p.m.
The Village of Canal Winchester will again partner with the Canal Winchester Art Guild to have local artwork displayed at all of the events. The June Music & Art in the Park event will feature Hillbilly Deluxe, a country music band, along with a roaming magician, and a police, fire, military and construction vehicle display. The series will conclude in July with a cruise-in and 60s/70s band, the Gas Pump Jockeys. Caricature artist Sean Platt will also be on site offering free caricatures during July's event. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Picnics, excluding alcohol, are welcome. Canal Winchester's community center, located at 22 S. Trine St., will be used as a backup location for all Music & Art in the Park events in the case of inclement weather.

Fridays beginning at dusk . The City's Parks & Recreation Department hosts movie nights at various parks around the city, including swim-in movies at Reed Rd. Water Park and drive-in movies at Mountview Baptist Church. The family-friendly movies are shown on the city's 24-foot screen.

Entertainment and family fun

2009 Hike and Bike Series - April-September
Bike ride starts in Gantz Park (Meet at Gantz Barn), Grove City, on the last Sunday of every month. Beginning at different times and parks, so check the website to know where to go. Bring the whole family out to enjoy the Grove City parks, do something healthy and meet new friends. A member of the Parks and Recreation staff or Grove City Park Board will lead a walk or bike ride. Dogs are welcome. All events are free and do not require pre-registration. Snacks and water will be offered to those who attend.
