Tanning = cancer.
A report came out late last month that shows that ultraviolet radiation from tanning beds are a serious cancer risk, deeming them as deadly as arsenic and mustard gas. Arsenic? Mustard gas? Additional analysis of 20 studies shows that the risk of skin cancer goes up 75 percent if you start using tanning beds before you're 30.
So this means if you're the mother of a girl who tans or have been tanning yourself, stop! Those warm glowing bulbs are contributing to cancerous cells in you and your daughter. The best advice? Start going natural, because let's face it, the orange-ina glow you were rocking form the cancer beds did not look natural or sexy to begin with.
Grab some 50 SPF sunscreen and lay out side if you want a tan so bad (but still not recommended), try Philosophy: the Healthy Tan, or Coppertone Oil-Free Sunless Tanner. These two self tanners have lower chemical counts than other similar products on the market.
The best way to avoid cancer associated with tanning? Stay pale. Nicole Kidman, Rachel Evan Wood, Edward Cullen -- what do they have in common? They are all smoking hot white hot.
