Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells

The Columbus Children's Theatre is bringing the holidays into Junie B. Jones' world during this 90-minute show. What will happen when Junie B. picks her rival's name in Secret Santa? You'll have to catch a performance to find out. Shows are 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Performances run through Dec. 22, and the show is suitable for those 4 and up. Tickets cost $11-$22.

Zoom Family Film Festival

It's back! Each year the Wexner Center hosts the Zoom Family Film Festival, and in 2013 Zoom is celebrating its 10th anniversary. From Dec. 5-8, head to the Wex for movies (you can find a full schedule online), family-friendly activities and more. Don't miss the free ice cream from Jeni's on Dec. 7! Tickets are $4 per movie ($3 for members) or $20 for six tickets ($15 for members).

A Children's Christmas Celebration

Celebrate winter with Vaud-Villities! The performing arts group's holiday celebration is an afternoon of entertainment, crafts, treats, photos with Santa and more. It all takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 1-5 p.m. Proceeds for the $5-per-person tickets help support Vaud-Villities' programming. You'll also get five activity tickets with each admission!

Elijah's Angel

Columbus-born writer Michael J. Rosen has adapted his book, Elijah's Angel, into a play that is being performed this month by the Gallery Players at the Jewish Community Center. The family-friendly performance tells the story of two people with different backgrounds during the time of Chanukah and Christmas. Show times are Dec. 7, 12 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Dec. 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for adults ($15 JCC members), $18 seniors ($13 JCC members), and $10 for students and children 18 and younger.

BalletMet's The Nutcracker

What's the holiday season without a performance of the beloved classic? BalletMet is once again presenting The Nutcracker, and you'll be able to watch the Sugar Plum Fairy and other characters dance on stage from Dec. 12-24. There are 16 performance dates to choose from (including some afternoon matinees) and tickets begin at $25.
