We're all constantly trying to come up with ways to incorporate more vegetables into our family meals, right? Find inspiration from The Vegetable Butcher: How to Select, Prep, Slice, Dice and Masterfully Cook Vegetables from Artichokes to Zucchini, a new cookbook written by Columbus author Cara Mangini. Mangini owns veggie-centric restaurant Little Eater and Little Eater Produce and Provisions at the North Market, and previously worked as one of the first official vegetable butchers at Eataly in New York City. Along with vegetable "butchering" techniques, the book includes simple vegetable-forward recipes such as Kohlrabi Carpaccio and Parsnip-Ginger Layer Cake. Find it at your local bookstore or on Amazon.com.

This is our city's first summer to really enjoy the Scioto Mile Greenways development since its grand opening in November-and there are plenty of ways to do so! In June, check out Rhythm on the River, a series of free outdoor performances at the Bicentennial Park Performing Arts Pavilion. The series kicks off Friday, June 3, with a double dose of fun. A 7:30 p.m. performance from Arnett Howard and Friends will be followed by a Movies on the Mile screening of Inside Out at dusk. Go to sciotomile.com for a full summer event schedule.
