Events present K-12 options to parents

More than 970 events are planned around Ohio in conjunction with National School Choice Week.

The nationwide effort, aimed at allowing parents to research K-12 education options, includes open houses, information sessions and policy discussions.

According to event organizers, Gov. John Kasich issued a proclamation recognizing School Choice Week, as did four counties (Cuyahoga, Guernsey, Stark and Williams) and multiple municipalities: Amherst, Beachwood, Belpre, Brown Township, Caldwell, Cheviot, Cleveland, Eaton, Grafton, Groveport, Hamilton Township, Jefferson Township, Kettering, Kenton, Lancaster, Liberty, Louisville, Macedonia, Madison, Mansfield, Piqua, Reynoldsburg, Springboro, Struthers, Tiffin, Tipp City and Willoughby Hills.
