Patrons can buy library items this weekend.

Bargain book hunters will want to carve out some time on their calendar this weekend.

The Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library will hold its annual Big Book Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 31 and April 1 at Main Library, 96 S. Grant Ave., Columbus.

Visitors can purchase children’s and adult books and other materials (including DVDs) that have been weeded from the collection. Prices are $1 to $3. Proceeds support Columbus Metropolitan Library programs and services. The event will be held in the branch’s Larry D. Black Auditorium.

Friends members get access to a presale from 5:30-8:30 p.m. March 30. A clearance on remaining materials will take place from 1-4 p.m. April 2.
