CCT stages Roald Dahl adaptation
Columbus Children’s Theatre will close out its season with a musical rendition of Roald Dahl’s popular book James and the Giant Peach.
CCT will perform the musical, which runs for an hour and 40 minutes, May 4-14 at the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St. The story, which is geared to ages 6 and older, focuses on a boy who uses a magic potion to grow an enormous peach, the arrival of which leads to an amazing adventure.
Adults who enjoyed La La Land should note this adaptation features music from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who won an Academy Award for their work on the hit film.
James and the Giant Peach will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays and 10 a.m. May 5 and 12. As always, the first Sunday of every CCT show is the Grand Sundae performance, which includes special activities for grandchildren and grandparents.
