Metro Parks debuts revamped play area
Outdoor lovers might want to mark their calendar for Sunday, when the renovated natural play area at Blendon Woods Metro Park is officially unveiled.
Metro Parks will host a grand reopening and ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. at Blendon Woods, 4265 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Westerville. Attendees can build forts, climb trees, dig in the dirt, cross a creek, make a fairy house, have some ice cream and participate in other activities.
The project was financed in part by REI Co-op and memorial funds donated by Whitehall teacher Michelle Zugaro and her daughter. Read her story (you might need some tissues) at metroparks.net/blog/loving-memories-inspire-great-new-features-at-blendon-woods-for-the-wild-child-in-all-of-us.
