4K flick kicks off summer family series

The seventh annual summer movie series from Gateway Film Center and the Columbus Metropolitan Library starts Thursday with a restored version of The Wizard of Oz. 

A 4K restoration of the 1939 film will kick off the “From Book to Film” family series at 7 p.m. May 25 and run through June 1. 

The 12-movie series runs through Aug. 17. Movies will be shown at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily and 7 p.m. Mondays.

The next film in the lineup, The Secret Garden, begins June 2. New titles start every Friday through Aug. 11.

Admission to the 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. shows is free with a CML library card, otherwise regular rates apply.
