Disney film kicks off festival

The Wexner Center for the Arts is bringing “Sleeping Beauty” back to the big screen for the 2017 “Zoom: Family Film Festival.”

The classic 1959 animated Walt Disney film will be shown at 1 p.m. Nov. 24 and 26 from a rare 70mm print. Tickets are $8 adults, $3 children.

The two-day festival then gets underway at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 with “The Preschool Poets: An Animated Film Series” by local artist Nancy Kangas. Kangas ran a Kickstarter campaign last year to fund a series of short films featuring local preschoolers’ poetry. Read more about it in this Columbus Parent story.

Zoom also includes more family films, a Cereal and Pajama Party, crafts and an Ice Cream Social. For more information and the event schedule, go to wexarts.org/film-video/series/zoom-family-film-festival.
