New exhibit debuts at The Works holiday event

After you’ve finished your Black Friday shopping spree, head to The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art and Technology for its annual Holiday Homecoming.

The Works, located in Newark, will host the event from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 24. Visitors can participate in a mix of 1800s and modern activities, including games, candle dipping, weaving, 3-D ornament printing, a glass-blowing demonstration at 1 p.m. and a science show at 2 p.m.

The Works also will debut Discovery Lab, a new early childhood learning exhibit space. Modeled on the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center and Smithsonian’s Wonderplace, the area has areas for building and exploration as well as interesting objects, including a full-size mastodon bone.

Activities are included with regular admission, which is $10 adults, $6 children ages 2-17 and free for younger children.
