Families can tour Delaware's new vehicle

Delaware County residents can soon check out a new library bookmobile.

The Delaware County District Library is debuting the new vehicle at 6 p.m. Jan. 5 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce, 32 S. Sandusky St. The bookmobile will be open for tours until 9 p.m.

According to an announcement from DCDL, the 24-foot Sprinter Bookmobile comes from Farber Specialty Vehicles near Reynoldsburg. It replaces one that is 16 years old and has driven 106,000 miles. The library uses the bookmobile to visit day care centers, preschools and senior centers, as well as local festivals and touch-a-truck programs.
