The Skeels Senior Citizens recently hosted the annual Black History Program & Soul Food Luncheon at the Skeels-Vernon L. Mathews Community Center in Ravenna. 

Mistress of ceremonies for the event was Mary E. Fowler. Following lunch, Virginia Harris welcomed the guests to the event. 

Eddie Mae Prisby on piano led the group in singing "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Poems were read by Skeels Youth Volunteer Gregory Kirklin Sr. and Skeels Senior Deseree Liddell. 

Following soloist Elvira Ransom, Jo Ann Stikes introduced guest speaker Joy Petite of Streetsboro. 

The benediction was given by the Rev. Dennis Richey of the Winfield Church of God in Christ in Ravenna.
