Gateway, Columbus Metropolitan Library screen summer movies.

Which is better, the book or the movie? Central Ohio families can judge for themselves when the eighth annual From Book to Film series gets underway.

Gateway Film Center and the Columbus Metropolitan Library are partnering again on the summer family film lineup, which will bring 13 literary adaptations to the big screen between May 25 and Aug. 23. Admission for up to four people is free with a CML card. Screenings are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily.

The library will set up a reading station in the theater lobby with books from CML’s Friends of the Library.

This year’s films are:

May 25-31: “Mary Poppins” June 1-7: “Fantastic Mr. Fox” June 8-14: “Little Women” (1994) June 15-21, 23: “Shrek” June 22-28: “The NeverEnding Story” June 29 to July 5: “The Princess Bride” July 6-12: “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” July 13-19: “Jumanji” (1995) July 20-26: “The Iron Giant” July 27 to Aug. 2: “The Hunger Games” Aug. 3-9: “Where the Wild Things Are” Aug. 10-16: “How to Train Your Dragon” Aug. 17-23: “The Wizard of Oz”
