The Betty Hawkins League at Hawks Nest/ATI golf course held its annual Betty Hawkins Day June 19. The day was planned by Alice Murray and Imogene Demkee. A fun day of golf was followed by lunch and a program in memory of founder and friend, Betty Hawkins. Murray gave information about the top 10 LPGA golfers of all time, ending with her pick for No. 1, Betty Hawkins. Murray, Beulah Zerrer and club pro, Chris McCormack, shared memories of Hawkins, along with stories about how the course was founded and how McCormack came to be employed there. Winners for the day were Jackie Dease (left), low net flight A; Paulette Matter, low net flight B and longest putt on No. 17; Marilyn Slater, low gross flight B; Imogene Demkee, low gross flight A; and Lisa Mangun, longest drive on No. 10.
