Local student accepted into national freshman honor society
SALISBURY, Md. — Jeromy Green, son of Misty and Jeremy Green of Wooster, was recently accepted into Phi Eta Sigma, the national freshman honor society, at Salisbury University.
Green is a sophomore majoring in medical lab oratory science. He is a member of the cross country and track and field teams. Green is a Presidential Scholarship recipient. He is a 2017 graduate of Wooster High School in Wooster.
Diabetes Support Group offers program
WOOSTER — Monday, Oct. 15, the Diabetes Support Group at Wooster Community Hospital will host the free program, "Sleep and Diabetes: Is There a Link?" from 6 to 7 p.m. in the hospital auditorium.
Nicole Blevens, RPSGT, Wooster Community Hospital Sleep Center, will explain how sleep can impact one’s diabetes.

Cast announced for ‘Dearly Departed’
WOOSTER — Wayne County Performing Arts Council (WaCPAC) has announced the cast and production dates for "Dearly Departed," a comedy by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones.
In the backwoods of the Bible belt, the Turpin family proves that living and dying are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Amidst the chaos, the Turpins turn for comfort to friends and neighbors, an eccentric community of misfits. Theirs is the ultimate dysfunctional family.
The cast consists of Roger Stinchcomb, Sheryl Villegas, Garrett Stoller, Bethany Marty, Ben Ott, Jenny Karger, Curt Stambaugh, Jerry Klingerman, Makenna Stoller, David Overmire, Susan Hilbert, Jamie Shoots, Carla Chaffin, Lois Speelman and singers Lizzie Radcliffe, Anna Gonzalez, Peter Gonzalez and Madison Kearney.
"Dearly Departed" is directed by Linda Karger with assistant director Ben Gonzales. Evening performances will be presented on Friday, Oct. 26, Saturday, Oct. 27, Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. Matinees are being offered Sunday, Oct. 28th and Sunday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. all at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., Wooster.
