The Wizardly World of Kent, this year’s follow up to last year’s Potterfest, was held July 28 in downtown Kent, organized by Main Street Kent.
The event started the evening before with "The Run that Shall Not Be Named." The 5K run began at the Lester Lefton Esplanade and took costumed participants around Kent State University.
At the Dan Smith Community Park, guests enjoyed costume contests, magic shows and trivia challenges. The Hometown Bank Plaza offered live music and magic classes.
There were more than 100 vendors this year, offering games, puzzles and other magical fun, and 14 food trucks for the thousands of people who flocked into town.
Many downtown businesses offered special activities, photo opportunities and special menu items in keeping with the theme of the event.
