I would like to believe this, but when I read about city government viciously attacking one entity, then I have doubts. I have played golf at Brookside Golf Course since 1975 and never before has this happened.

Do the proceeds from Brookside Golf Course go back into supporting the course or are they put into a general fund for parks and recreation then divided among the park system?

How close do the pool, tennis courts, ball fields and soccer fields come to meeting expenses without help? I never see front page headlines about transferring funds to one of them so they must be self-supporting.

I hear this all too often that we are doing so much for our children. If this is true, then what message are we sending to our children and grandchildren, who want to learn how to play golf? You don't count?
