The King Arts Complex hosts a Kwanzaa Celebration tomorrow evening!

This special African American holiday connects the ancient customs of Africa with the standards of living of African American people.

The Nguzo Saba representing the seven principles of Kwanzaa is celebrated by the lighting of the Kinara. The Nguzo Saba is the philosophical foundation of the celebration that represents Umoja (Unity), Kujiachagulia (Self Detemination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity) and Imani (Faith).

Columbus legends Tony and Aziza West will be the hosts for the evening as the community is invited to celebrate Ujima. Join together, starting at 7 p.m., for authentic African cuisine, African dancing, drumming and the opportunity to purchase art and jewelry from some of best vendors in our area.

Tickets cost $10 for King Arts Complex members, $15 for non-members, $12 for students and seniors, and $5 for children.

The King Arts Complex is located at 867 Mt. Vernon Ave. For more information, call 614-645-KING or visit their website http://www.kingartscomplex.org/events/kwanzaaCelebration.aspx.
