Here at Columbus Parent World Headquarters, we get sent to us stuff all the time (without us even asking) by publicists, publishers and manufacturers. We often donate it to worthy organizations like the Ronald McDonald House or local schools, but this year we thought we'd try something new with the pile that's built up.We're going to convert all this swag to canned goods and nonperishables that we'll be donating to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
How?By swapping it with you, our readers. Here's how it will work: On Saturday, Dec. 10, from 7-9 p.m., we're going to set up a table in the back of Wholly Craft (that lovely Clintonville crafters' heaven, located at 3169 N. High St.). This 1st Annual Columbus Parent Swag Swap will run concurrently with Wholly Craft's 7th Annual Midnight Madness Sale.
Give us a canned good (or nonperishable like diapers or a 12-pack of toilet paper) and you get to pick one of our swag items to take home and stuff in someone's stocking! We're talking all kinds of kids' books, toys, DVDs and CDs!So put it on your calendar and start cleaning out your pantries for swag to swap!
In the meantime, be sure to pick up a copy of our December issue, out this week! Symone, the winner of our Win the Cover contest, is featured on the cover, perched among the poinsettias at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. And somehow all that beautiful color just perks you right up!
