The Blessings in a Backpack charity provides elementary school children who are on the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year. Backpack food includes easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat foods, like granola bars, juice boxes, macaroni and cheese, and oatmeal.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are partnering with the Marysville chapter of Blessings in a Backpack at their game this Friday, March 30. Come see the Jackets play the Florida Panthers (game time is 7 p.m.) and 25 percent of the ticket price will go to this worthy cause. Additionally, any of the money earned from the game tickets and raffle, as well as donations that are collected, will go directly into the account that will feed hungry children in Marysville!
