Catch a blast from the past and escape the winter blues with the Ohio History Center's "Cabin Fever" Cure.
Catch a blast from the past and escape the winter blues with the Ohio History Center's "Cabin Fever" Cure. Beginning in February and running through the end of March, themed activities encourage families to learn more about Ohio's past.
Explore Ohio's forgotten yesterday with "Lost in History" (Feb. 16-17 and Feb. 23-24). Jump right in with hands-on activities and make a beaver-pelt hat , explore antiques and hear ghost stories from museum staff.
Learn more about Ohio's cultural heritage in "Legends, Lore and Life in Ohio" for the first three weekends in March. Hear first-person accounts, enjoy folk music and build an instrument to connect with people of the past.
Compare homes and observe the changes in buildings and family life with "In the Home" (March 23-14 and March 30-31). Use a loom and try out old-fashioned games to experience life from a variety of time periods.
Events are included with regular admission, $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $5 for youth (6-12) and free for Ohio Historical Society members or children 5 and under. For more information, visit www.ohiohistory.org/cabinfever.
