Bring the kids to meet CML's four duck mascots
Make way for ducklings! The Columbus Metropolitan Library's Whetstone Branch will celebrate the 27th annual Duckling Day this Saturday, April 27.The event is based on Ohio author Robert McCloskey's classic children's book, Make Way for Ducklings. And this year, the celebration is even more special because, as Duckling fans know, the story is set in Boston.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at CML's Whetstone branch, which is located at 3909 N. High St., and kicks off with a "ducky parade" around the library. Activities after the parade include: crafts, puppet show, live ducks and an opportunity for children to meet CML's four duck mascots: Mrs. Mallard, Little Quack, Baby Waddle and Sir Quack-a-lot. Each child in attendance will receive a goody bag while supplies last. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP is required.
Added bonus: Duckling costume packets are currently available for pick up at the Whetstone Branch Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
