Screenings include 10 classics adapted from books

Gateway Film Center's awesome "From Book to Film" series is back! This great collaboration with the Columbus Metropolitan Library presents 10 great movies adapted from favorite books with free admission to anyone with a library card.

New this year is a Scholastic book fair in the film center lobby; special free performances by the Jazz Academy's PBJ & Jazz ensemble at select screenings; and a free, one-time only, outdoor performance by Actors' Theatre.

PBJ & Jazz will perform live at 12:30 p.m. before the 1:30 p.m. screenings of The Wizard of Oz (May 24), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (June 21), and Where the Wild Things Are (July 26).

Actors' Theatre will do a special outdoor performance of their unique show, "All the Great Books (Abridged)" at 12:30 p.m. before the 1:30 p.m. screening of The Princess Bride (July 5).

The book fair will run from May 31 to June 15 and be open an hour before and after each screening.
