Close encounters with unusual members of the plant world

Scary Plants - the newest exhibit at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens - opens Saturday, Sept. 27 and runs through Nov. 9.

You'll be able to enjoy close encounters with dangerous, misunderstood and unusual members of the plant world. You can discover exotic, bizarre botanicals; examine the ferocious appetite of carnivorous plants; and find out what could be lurking in your own backyard! In addition, there will be seven weeks of scary-plant programming and entertainment.

FYI, opening day tomorrow also features the "retired tropical plant sale," where you can score specialty plants from the Conservatory's collection for a fraction of their regular value!
