At Easton and Columbus Commons

Easton and the Columbus Commons are turning on the holiday lights over the next few days.

Easton's Town Square tree was lit over the weekend. This year's tree is 50 feet tall and is part of an elaborate light display throughout the Town Center. A special poll allowed visitors to decide what vehicle Santa would use for his entrance at the tree lighting. The winner? A vintage fire truck from 1924. Carriage rides also begin tonight and continue weekends through Dec. 23: They'll happen Fridays and Saturdays from 6-10 p.m. and Sundays from 3-7 p.m. in the North District of Easton Town Center. Each ride costs $10 per person, with children under 15 free if they ride with a paying adult. And the Columbus Commons adds its 200,000 LED lights and 50-foot tree to the downtown displays beginning Monday evening, Nov. 24 and continuing through Jan. 1. For some added fun, visitors to the Commons, located at 160 S. High St., are encouraged to take pictures in front of the tree and then tag Columbus Commons in their photos on social media for a chance to win a Milestone 229 restaurant gift card.
