Celebrating its 10th year

It's hard to believe this is the 10th year for the Craftin' Outlaws Alternative Craft Festival, but it is! Its latest version takes place this Sunday, April 19 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at the High Line Car House (550 S. High St.) in German Village.

Craftin' Outlaws is a celebration of independent artists, crafters and designers who use centuries-old techniques to make items with a decidedly modern vibe. Just in time for Mother's Day, the festival will feature a wide variety of handmade gifts and other goods, including clothing, handbags, jewelry, paintings, posters, ceramics, knitted accessories, plush creatures, bath and body items, letterpress stationery and home decor items.

Sweet Carrot Food Truck will be stationed outside serving it signature johnnycakes and other dishes, while Pattycake Bakery and the CD102.5FM Ice Cream Truck will be on hand with sweet treats. Inside, shoppers will find a full bar as well as music provided by Wholly Craft. The first 100 shoppers will leave with a swag bag courtesy of Allison Rose.

Admission is free. Proceeds from raffles and a diaper drive will benefit the nonprofit group Columbus Diaper Coalition, a diaper bank for Central Ohio families.

The festival will return to the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Nov. 14.
