Seussification of Romeo and Juliet

Now here's a sneaky way to get some Shakespeare into your kids' lives: CATCO Is Kids' production of The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet. It opens tonight at the Columbus Performing Arts Center's Shedd Theatre and runs through Sept. 6.

This version is a whimsical reinvention of Shakespeare's tragic love story, complete with rhymed couplets, creative wordplay and fantastical machines. The playwright, Peter Bloedel, imagines the story as it might have gone if Dr. Seuss had ever had his way with the script.

All tickets cost only $5. The shows take place Fridays, Aug. 28 and Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m., and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, Aug. 29-30 and Sept. 5-6.
