St. James Lutheran Church
St. James Lutheran Church, 5660 Trabue Road, will host its Christmas German worship service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.
The service will be conducted by Steven Maurer and will include Christian hymns and music. The service and hymns will be spoken and sung in traditional German language, reflecting the heritage and ancestry of the church.

Vista Community Church
Vista Community Church will present a holiday service called " Unveiled" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, and 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Radiant Life Activity Center, 7055 Avery Road.

Christian Community Church North
Christian Community Church North, 5586 Olentangy River Road, will host a performance of a new, original holiday dance presentation, " Segments of the Season, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
More than 40 dancers and performers from all central Ohio have been cast in the production, written and directed by Vitoria Dance Company in Plain City.
"Segments of the Season" is about a girl named Ann who was very spoiled and not very nice. Every year Ann's parents invite friends and family to a Christmas Eve party where there are dancing dolls and magical flowers. Though this Christmas Eve seemed like every other, it is far from ordinary. Follow Ann as she journeys through the past, present and future to find the true meaning of Christmas. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for a pre-show, at which carolers will sing traditional Christmas songs and activities are planned for children. Admission is free. Guests may drop off a grocery bag containing the following items: Two canned soups, two cans of tuna fish, one spaghetti sauce, one bag of candy/cookies, one jelly, one peanut butter, one instant potatoes, one can of peaches or pears, one hamburger or tuna helper, one can of baked or kidney beans and one salad dressing for Victory Mission. Highlands Presbyterian Church
Highlands Presbyterian Church, 6909 Smoky Row Road, will hold its annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.
This service, which was originally conceived by the archbishop of Canterbury in England in 1880, has since been adopted in some form by many churches as part of their Christmas celebrations. During the service, nine Scripture readings are read. After each "lesson," the choir and/or the congregation sing a hymn or a carol that reflects on the passage just read.
This year, the choir of Highlands Presbyterian Church, directed by Viy McGaughy and accompanied by organist/pianist Dr. Thomas Veregge, will be singing. The community is invited to attend the service.
Trinity United Methodist Church
A special music program is planned during the 10:30 a.m. service at Trinity United Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 21.
Both the Trinity UMC Choir, directed by Annette Devores, and the Trinity Bells, directed by Margie Romine, will participate in the service.The choir will perform two pieces from the cantata "Celebrate Life" by Beryl Red, accompanied by pianist Rose Marie Davis and percussionist Ben Romine. Soprano Christina Romine will portray Mary in "Song of Mary."
The service will begin with a handbell and choir processional arrangement of the familiar carol "Angels We Have Heard on High." The Trinity Bells will be joined by Cheryl Hodge on flute for the Irish carol "Love Came Down at Christmas." The bells will also ring a rhythmic West Indian Carol "The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy." This piece will be accompanied by Ben Romine on the bongo drums.
"This service of music is always a highlight of the Christmas season for worshipers at Trinity," said spokeswoman Kaye Najmulski.
