Save the day and a few animals too with Zoo Hospital!
So you've just graduated veterinary college and it's your first day on the job at a well known zoo. Little do you know that your precious hospital is in trouble!
Someone's out to buy the property and shut down the zoo for good! It's your job to stop that the only way you know how: helping the sick animals of the zoo and expanding its collection of animals.
Zoo Hospital (Wii, DS) Rated E for Everyone
In Zoo Hospital, you take on the role of a rookie vet whose job is to help out all of the animals of the zoo. Sometimes you'll be giving them shots, sometimes you'll be removing tumors and other times you be doing dental work.
With over 48 different species of animals, your kids will not only learn cool veterinary facts, but also learn about animal eating habits, natural habitat information and general info about all kinds of cool animals such as toucans and cheetahs.
In the Wii version, you use the Wii as a laser for burning tumors, needles for shots and even a razor to shave animal's fur to prep them for surgery. In the Nintendo DS version, all of the above mentioned tasks are performed with a stylus on the touch screen.
By correctly performing more difficult procedures on the animals you improve your zoo rating, which expands your zoo and introduces even more exotic animals. In both the DS and Wii versions you can join up with a friend for two-player cooperative action, helping each other out with surgeries or even just interacting with the animals in their sections of the zoo.
I also found this useful for helping my son through tough surgeries.
All of the operations and checkups in Zoo Hospital are done in mini-games style for easy play and simple controls. Expect lots of different problems with the animals of the zoo, and expect a fun time playing doctor!
Game to avoid:
Coming out soon is a new title which is a joint venture between Midway and DC Comics entitled Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Sure, it's got all your younglings' favorite DC superheroes like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, but it also has the whole slew of Mortal Kombat characters.
So what does that have to do with anything? Well, the Mortal Kombat games are known for their blood and violence with rounds of fighting ending in fatalities.
Fatalities range from freezing opponents and shattering them to a thousand pieces to decapitations. I would suggest instead looking into Lego Batman to quell the kids desire to play as their favorite superheroes.
Til next time, play on!
