Appreciate nature and have a little fun while doing so with a ziplining experience at one of these Ohio courses.

Last summer, I had the pleasure of trying something foreign to me: ziplining. While the thought of being harnessed to a wire and gliding through a canopy of trees wasn't on my bucket list, I strapped on a helmet and gave it a go at the Zip Zone course near Worthington. The results? I'm sure glad I did.

With summer approaching, ziplining is an exhilarating family activity that lets you appreciate nature and have a little fun while doing so. Most of the Ohio zipline courses will let kids as young as 10 years old zip (although you'll see that a few cater to children even younger) as long as they meet the weight requirement. And a helpful hint that's key to remember, especially to those who are afraid of heights: Once you start a zipline course, you typically have to finish the entire thing in order to get back down to solid ground.

We've rounded up a list of the courses you'll find in Ohio, including Zip Zone, which opened in 2012. Noted for each course is a general price range, which can change based on a number of variables, like course size, specific days of the week and age. But call the course ahead of time for definitive pricing.

I'm already hoping that I can make it back to a course this summer. Happy zipping!
