Editor’s note: Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many camp organizers are either moving their 2020 summer camps to online offerings or canceling their programs for this year. The state of Ohio declared May 14 that day camps would be allowed to operate under specific guidelines as of May 31, so some camps are still taking place in person, though with special precautions. This list, part of our 2020 Columbus Parent Summer Camp Guide, was accurate at the time our Spring issue came out in early March, but many camp plans have changed since, so be sure to contact the organizer of any camp you have already enrolled in or are hoping to sign up for to confirm whether it is still taking place.

Columbus Academy: Summer Experience
Ages served: 3-18
Dates/times: 6/2-7/31; half day (2-5 hours) and full day (6+ hours)
Description: Columbus Academy Summer Experience offers co-ed day camp programs in Academics, Arts & Sciences and Athletics for pre-K through 12th grade including before- and after-care options, as well as a Family Division that includes Caregiver & Baby and Grown Up & Child classes. There are nine weekly sessions to choose from.
Cost: Varies depending on programming. Camp starts at $270 per week for a rising grade K-9 full-day camper. Specialty camp fees are higher due to additional materials, field trips and/or program supports.

Columbus Recreation and Parks: Community Recreation
Ages served: 6-17

Columbus School for Girls: CSG Summer Programs
Ages served: 3-18

Description: Whether they are artists, actors, scientists, writers, athletes, engineers or anything in between, all kids can participate in CSG Summer Programs. CSG Summer Programs are comprehensive co-educational experiences for children in pre-k through grade 12.
Cost: $160 to $500 per week

Hilliard Recreation and Parks: Rec Camp 2020
Ages served: 6-11

Description: In this program, campers will swim at the Hilliard Family Aquatic Center, with field trips every Friday. A snack is provided daily. Price includes extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Themes, which vary by week, are Around the World, Wild West Camp and Mystery Camp.
Cost: $160 resident, $175 nonresident

The Learning Academy: The Learning Adventures

Description: At the Learning Adventures camp, children will have the opportunity to discover problem-solving techniques, experience STEM activities, explore creativity and build lasting relationships with new friends. With a new theme each week, children will be engaged daily.

The Little Gym of Polaris: Super Quest & Skill Thrill Camps
