THE BACKSTORY: The thought of taking children to a live theater production or classical music concert is enough to make some parents nervous. But it needn't be so daunting. Central Ohio is home to numerous performing-arts organizations and venues that offer family-friendly productions—some of which have children as their target audience. While Columbus Children's Theatre and CATCO is Kids cater to young children, more-traditional groups such as BalletMet, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and others also welcome young audience members.
In the October issues, our special Arts section explores these family-friendly entertainment options, as well as how local organizations are reaching out into the community and schools to teach students.
