Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers

On Nov. 9, The Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers met in the basement of the Main Street United Methodist Church. President Marah Bethel called the meeting to order. Emma Mazgaj led devotions, and roll call was answered by "Name a veteran you could thank for their service." Jenna Duvall read the secretary's report, and Olivia Phillips read the treasurer's report.

Other reports were also given. Rada fundraiser orders had arrived and were picked up at the meeting. As part of their community service project, the club is holding a square dance training for all ages to learn or help others learn how to square dance. It will be held Nov. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wise Building at the Belmont County Fairgrounds. Admission will be a canned or a dry packaged food item, which will be donated between two local churches.

An announcement was made that there is a mandatory safety meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13 for anyone interested in participating in Shooting Sports for the upcoming year. A reminder was also made that secretary, treasurer, and news reporter books must be turned in to a club advisor by January 2020 in order to be eligible for awards.

The December meeting of the BPHH 4-H Club will be a Christmas Party and will kickoff the Club’s 100th Year Celebration.
