Do you know how to go to college?

  • Step ONE: Be a pain in the behind. That's right, this time we are encouraging you to be a pain (in a good way) by reaching out to an adult for help- someone that will walk you through the steps to college.
  • Step TWO: Push yourself. You'll be happy that you did. A college graduate will earn nearly $1 million more over a lifetime than a high school graduate. Make the effort to find the right classes required for college and push yourself to do well in them.
  • Step THREE: Find the right fit. Develop a list of your needs and wants in college. Narrow your list of schools before you apply.
  • Step FOUR: Put your hands on some cash. There is money out there to help pay for college, you just need to apply for it. Most families use a mix of the following to pay for school: savings, current earnings, scholarships, grants and education loans.
