Columbus Children's Theatre, in collaboration with Short North Stage, debuts Jackie & Me, a brand-new show about a 10-year-old boy who discovers how to travel back in time. It opens this Thursday, Feb. 18 and runs through Feb. 29 at The Garden Theatre, 1187 N. High St. in the Short North district.

Ten-year-old Joey Stoshack has a special power. Whenever he holds a baseball card, he can travel through time. When he gets a school assignment to write a report on a role model, he uses his powers to travel back to 1947 to meet the legendary Jackie Robinson, the first African-American baseball player in the major leagues. Joey plans on writing a prize-winning report, but he never plans on a trip that will forever change his view of history.

Parents should be aware that there is some language in the play, which illustrates the prejudice of the time period that Joey visits.

Adult tickets are $20-$25 and child/student/senior (ages 55+r) tickets are $15-$20. On Thrifty Thursdays, tickets are $12 for all seats, all ages. Reservations are recommended. For more information and to purchase tickets, please call 614-224-6672 orvisit
