Nominate a difference-maker in your community for 2022 Everyday Heroes
Since 2017, the Dispatch family of brands has been honoring those Everyday Heroes who perform extraordinary selfless acts to improve, heal and unite our community.
The Columbus Dispatch, Dispatch Magazines and ThisWeek Community News want your help to recognize the heroes among us for 2022. Consider the social activist righting a wrong, the volunteer quietly aiding those in need, a neighbor doing good deeds.
“During these divisive times, it is important to recognize and honor those who bring people together through kind and authentic acts without seeking the spotlight. We hope that featuring their work will inspire others to follow their lead,” said Ray Paprocki, president and general manager of Dispatch Magazines.
"There are people working to better lives throughout Greater Columbus who do not receive the recognition they deserve," said Dispatch Interim Editor Kelly Lecker. "We want to honor these unsung heroes."

Five finalists and 20 semifinalists will be selected and recognized in a special publication distributed in The Columbus Dispatch in the fall and honored at an event and during a television program. An overall Hero will be chosen.
Last year's winner was Ram Upreti for putting his own health at risk while trying to keep the Bhutanese-Nepali community in Greater Columbus informed about and safe from COVID-19.
The presenting sponsor for Everyday Heroes is Atlas Butler. Other sponsors are AEP, the Columbus Foundation, CME Federal Credit Union, COSI, NBC4 and the United Way of Central Ohio.
